The recent speech of Ana Botella for #Madrid2020‘s Olympic candidature has trended on social media. Her display of the English language sparked waves of well-known stereotypical comments around the “poor handling” of English by the Spaniards.


Nevertheless, also Italians are well known for their maccheronico English and quite a few politicians from the boot would provide quite some competition to Botella’s speech.
